In the same style as the classic Abbott and Castillo “Who’s on First”, our Commissioners had to be educated by concerned citizens that the first reading of their Amended Solar Ordinance 2025-6 which referenced  the latest Plan Commission recommendations was in fact, not published. The county website showing the draft Solar Ordinance was last updated on 5/22/2025. The Plan Commission meet on 6/10/2025 and continued the hearing to 7/1/2025, where the ordinance amendments were approved.

Commissioner Bramer also sits on the plan commission. He could only recall one of the four changes implemented by the Plan Commission at the 7/1/2025 hearing. He insisted the online draft ordinance was already updated or that it would be before their next meeting on 8/21/2025.  Commissioner Lee stated, That’s kind of how we do it referencing a first reading. Concerned citizens were able to achieve a commitment that three more readings will be scheduled on the ordinance. Way to go citizens!
